UAE poised to claim glory as Paris Summer Olympics set to commence

 

The Olympic Games to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, is a good chance for the UAE athletes to fight for the medals in different sports.

The UAE will consist of a total of 14 athletes in equestrian, judo, cycling, swimming, and athletics with better chances of winning in equestrian and judo categories.

Similar to previous years, horse rider Omar Al Marzouqi and cyclist Safiya Al Sayegh will be the flag bearers during the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

More significantly, the venue that will be selected for the ceremony will be on the river Seine; which is six kilometers, and it is earmarked to have 94 boats that will transport 10,500 athletes.

The team was backed fully by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and has been trained fully. This includes twenty-four people in the categories of administrators technicians and therapists.

Abdullah Al Marri, Omar Al Marzooqi, Ali Al Kirbi, and Salem Al Suwaidi can be singled out from the equestrian team.

A conjoint team of judo has five male members and one female member. Also, Safiya Al Sayegh will go down in history as the first woman cyclist from the United Arab Emirates to represent her country at the Olympics.

Rashid Yousef, Matrooshi, is an Olympic swimmer, while Abdullah Maha, Shehi, is also preparing for the Games swimmer; Besides, the runner Mariam Mohammed Farsi Al Farsi something is also preparing for the Olympic event.

The first Olympic medal by the UAE was claimed in 2004 when Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher Al Maktoum won the gold medal in the double trap shooting.

Another Olympic success story that ensued in the year 2016 Rio Olympics was Sergiu Toma who represented UAE originally from Moldova to gain a bronze medal.
