The United Arab Emirates has become the biggest giver to humanitarian aid for Gaza, with a total of 828 million dollars (3.04 billion dirhams), from October 2023 to November 2024, based on the latest figures. According to the German Press Agency dpa, in the list of global donors for Gaza, UAE constitutes 42% of the total support provided by donors to Palestinians during the ongoing conflict.
The UAE responded rapidly as soon as the conflict flared up, sending in the first batch of relief goods and medical supplies through all the air, land, and sea routes to Gaza. Even as the war continues, the country has continued with its humanitarian efforts as one of the Global Donors for Gaza. Only yesterday, 20 trucks full of essential supplies, such as jackets, blankets, food items, medical supplies, and winter relief, were dispatched for the victims of the violence.
The UAE’s “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” has been instrumental in providing continuous aid to Gaza. Hundreds of aid trucks have carried essential goods such as food, water, medical supplies, shelter tents, clothes, and baby formula. In addition to this, the UAE provided ambulances, water tanks, and sewage systems in order to address the crisis.
This remarkable contribution is not only driven by the UAE government but also by the UAE’s citizens and residents, who have volunteered and supported various relief initiatives. Emiratis, expats, and royals have come together to support the Palestinian people in their time of need, showing solidarity and compassion amidst the war.
