UAE visa amnesty: Dubai’s GDRFA highlights centers where overstaying ex-pats can apply

Dubai GDRFA stated that documents are available for examining the lists of applicants for the amnesty of the UAE visa that is scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 1, and will last for two months till October 30 this year.

When contacted on Thursday, the GDRFA denied the report but told media that applicants  can visit any of the 86 Amer centres located across Dubai and the other place at the GDRFA center in Al Awir.

Amer centers will process the ’change status’ and all the services for individuals who want to stay in the country and the depature permits for those with biometric fingerprints meaning those with emirates ID.

The GDRFA’s Al Awir Centre will be equipped as the fingerprinting facility and as the place for the granting of the departure permits to those would-be emigrants who wish to leave the United Arab Emirates.

Any violator of the visas is free to go out of the UAE having benefited from the amnesty without any legal hindrance to his or her return to the country. This means, no ban stamp on passport and they can re-enter UAE on valid visa and they can go to workplace also.

RESPECT FOR LAW AND TOLERANCE:

Different laws may be considered but every person should respect the laws of the land.

Lt-Gen Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director-general of the GDRFA, said the amnesty program “enshrines the UAE’s humanitarian values and TO and respect and tolerance of the Dubai society”.

Major General Salah Al Qamzi, the assistant director-general for the GDRFA’s follow-up of violators and foreigners’ affairs, said that their teams would facilitate the customer procedures and provide all the necessary amenities.

GDRFA Call Centre

He urged those wishing to take advantage of the amnesty scheme “to get information only from official sources or any information that you get, corroborate with GDRFA call center at 8005111 which is available round the clock.”
