UAE Weather Alert: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red and yellow alert for fog across parts of the UAE, cautioning residents about reduced visibility. According to the NCM, fog formation is expected to cause significant deterioration in horizontal visibility, especially in some internal and coastal areas, between 2:00 am and 10:00 am on Thursday.
In addition to the fog warning, the forecast predicts partly cloudy to cloudy skies, particularly in the eastern and northern regions of the country, with a chance of light rain. Light to moderate winds are expected, becoming fresher over the sea, which could result in moderate to rough conditions in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain relatively calm.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 35ºC in some areas, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai seeing maximum temperatures of around 32ºC. On the lower end, temperatures could drop to 25ºC in Abu Dhabi, 27ºC in Dubai, and as low as 16ºC in mountainous regions.
Humidity levels will increase overnight and into Friday morning, with a likelihood of fog or mist forming in some interior areas. Humidity levels are forecasted to range between 30-85% in Abu Dhabi and 30-80% in Dubai. Residents are advised to exercise caution on the roads due to fog and reduced visibility, and to stay updated with weather alerts.
