Transportation service Uber has announced to change the fare in Dubai. Base fare will now fluctuate based on the day of the week and time of day.
The new fare structure for UberSELECT and UberVIP includes changes to base fare per minute and per kilometer rates and the booking fee.
Uber has sent an email to its customers and said that the changes will result in higher fare on some trips, while fares will be lower on other trips. Customers will be able to see the breakdown of the fare before booking their ride.
New base fare will be Dhs5.4, Dhs6.7 and Dhs10.6 depending on the day and time. Per kilometer charges will be Dhs2.25, waiting charges Dhs0.5 per minute and minimum fare will be Dhs15 excluding booking fee of Dhs5.
