Uzbekistan Exempts UAE Nationals from Visa Entry


The Republic of Uzbekistan, a UAE national, has exempted holders of diplomatic, special and ordinary passports from their prior visa.

The decision of the exemption, which came at the initiative and decision of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, entered into force on Wednesday 20 March. UAE nationals can travel to the Republic of Uzbekistan without prior visas and stay there for up to 30 days.

Bader Al Awadhi, Director of Consular Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said: “The initiative of the Uzbek government to exempt UAE nationals from diplomatic, private and ordinary passports from previous visas is an important achievement. Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.”

He added that this decision was a translation of the strong historical relations between the two friendly countries, which were built on the basis of mutual cooperation in various political, economic and trade fields.

He stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has made great strides in its diplomatic and consular efforts to strengthen the status of the state at the global level.

He explained that this initiative of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan reflects the international status that the UAE has assumed and confirms the growing bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Uzbekistan and opens new horizons for the country’s citizens for tourism, investment, and trade.

Al-Awadhi pointed out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation seeks to intensify its diplomatic efforts to achieve one of its strategic objectives, which is to provide excellent services to the UAE citizen and his happiness as the main priority in the concerns of the wise leadership.
