“Wait Habibi” Comes as an Emoji and Arab World is Thankful

Truly some feelings can never be explained, but the emoji library has done it again and without using any words, the Arab world will now be able to express the excessive emotion of pinched fingers, “Wait Habibi” with the latest emoji.

It seems that the dire need of this expression has caused this emoji to be added to the library. iPhone and Android have now officially included the much used Arab ‘wait’ hand-sign in their upcoming list of soon to be released emojis in 2020.

While there is no exact date when this will be rolled out, the Arab world has no doubt rejoiced at the announcement.

The new emoji update also sees new human characters, including a bride, groom, and new parent that come with female, male, and gender-neutral options.

But the “wait Habibi” emoji is an expression that is used all around the world as “wait, let me explain” situation happens to us all. People have also asked others on twitters that what “pinched fingers” would mean in their country.

Italians have also a very strong claim over the emoji as Emojipedia describes the new emoji on its website as: “An emoji showing all fingers and thumb held together in a vertical orientation, sometimes referred to as the Italian hand gesture ‘Ma Che Vuoi.'”

The new emoji cover a range of subjects, such as animals, including a polar bear, a seal, a beaver, and a mammoth, and new items including a toothbrush, a boomerang, a magic wand, and a mousetrap.
