As we move into February, the UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced new fuel prices for the month. The updated UAE Petrol Prices for February reflect some minor changes compared to the previous month, offering slight variations in pricing.
These prices represent a slight increase compared to January, providing motorists with some clarity for the upcoming month.
Petrol prices in the UAE are a reflection of trends in the global oil marketplace. Local petrol prices deregulated in 2015 and became dependent on international prices. In essence, because of that, fluctuating global crude prices become direct determinants in the price of petrol and diesel inside UAE borders.
For the month of December 2024, Brent oil averaged around $73.06 a barrel, slightly lower than the $73.2 per barrel for November. Such a marginal drop in international oil prices accounts for the unchanged UAE petrol prices for January 2025.
UAE petrol prices fluctuated considerably throughout 2024. The peak was in May when Super 98 petrol went for AED 3.34 per liter and diesel at AED 3.07 per liter. Towards the closing months of the year, prices dropped gradually and brought some relief to consumers.
This situation will continue throughout 2025 considering the conditions of the global oil market, which remains at the mercy of geopolitical tensions, economic policies, and the ever-changing supply and demand. This will sustain continued fair and transparent pricing for consumers.
Motorists and businesses could continue to be aware about timely updates of the UAE petrol prices by following the announcements of the UAE fuel price committee and other trusted news agencies.
