Art lovers get ready to attend some of the world class exhibitions and workshops this March in Dubai!!

Stealing Sadness

An art exhibition ‘Stealing Sadness’ by Majd Kurdieh is happening in Dubai. It is going to be the second solo exhibition of the Syrian artist. It exhibits the new collection of ‘The Very Scary Butterfly Gang’ and ‘Fasaeen’- a cartoon character who always speaks for Majd may also be speaking for others.

The Workshop, 23B Street, off Al Wasl Road, Dubai. March 13 to April 12, Sat to Thurs 10am to 8pm.

The Power of Paint

Art historian and the founder of Art History UK, Rose Balston is giving a lecture on Velazquez. He was Spanish painter and a unique artist of the contemporary Baroque period. He painted a lot of portraits of Spanish royal family.

Turkish artist Hale Tenger is doing a new art installation at Dubai Art Week. The installation is inspired by ancient hunting method, in which net were placed in the forests and birds were forced to fly low. When the nets were taken away, the birds continue to fly low – as they forgot the sky and to fly high.

Through her installation, Tenger is asking a question, “If birds can forget to fly high, as humans what have we forgotten?”

Many of the artists and designers of 21st century have turned their thoughts and talent to jewelry. With their master pieces they have also penned down their thoughts.
