Dubai Duty Free Sales reaches to $20 million in Q1, 2018

Established in 1983, Dubai Duty Free sales have reached to $20 million in the first-quarter of this year. It has become one of the largest travel operator in the world with sales turnover of S1.93 billion in 2017.

The sales for the first three months of the year hit a whopping Dh1.91 billion, which represents an 11 per cent increase in the sales recorded in 2017 in the same period. The operations at Dubai Duty Free have consistently raised the benchmark for airport retailing and it continues to grow.

Dubai Duty Free spreads over 36,000sqm of retail space at Dubai International Airport and 2,500sqm at Al Maktoum International that will grow in line with the massive development plans of Dubai South.

According to the CEO of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin, “We’re very pleased with the first-quarter-of-the-year sales and are focused on reaching our targets of the year.”

Shoppers have mostly spent on perfumes, tobacco products and beverages. The Duty Free at Dubai airport also has a Leisure Division which includes The Irish Village, both in Garhoud and Riverland Dubai, The Century Village, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and The Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.
