Dubai Metro turns 15, offering an array of exciting experiences for travelers

 

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is pitching to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Dubai Metro with an exciting array of promotional and entertainment activities for metro users.

Under the theme 15 Years on Track, the anniversary festivities will feature a combination of surprises, special editions, and collaborative events throughout September.

The Dubai Metro, a cornerstone of the city’s public transportation network, will mark this milestone with a series of schemes supported by a diverse group of sponsors and partners.

Dubai Metro has 15 years now and celebrating this occasion Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai have planned to advertise and entertain the people using metro trains.

15 Years on Track – this is how the anniversary of Dubai Metro will be called, guests will be able to enjoy a number of pleasant surprises, as well as special editions and games in September.

In the next few years, the Dubai Metro, which is one of the key elements of the city’s public transport system, will celebrate this event with several activities, which will be backed by various sponsors and partners.

The operator of the Dubai Metro and Tram, Keolis-MHI, is the anniversary’s strategic partner.

Sponsorship is LEGO Middle East, LEGOLAND Dubai, IGLOO, Al Jaber Gallery and Emirates Post all of which support a festive movement with several activities.

Among them, the limited edition of post stamps released by Emirates Post to commemorate the 15 years of the metro’s journey should be noted. These stamps will be convenient to collect.

The RTA will also be releasing a special limited edition NOL card with a design that has been made with the LEGO Middle East making it collectible as well.

Visitors will also be able to purchase a variety of souvenirs related to the metro in Al Jaber Gallery.

For families, visit LEGOLAND Dubai September 21 to celebrate ‘Metro Babies’ – children born on or after September 9, 2009.

Parents can go online to the RTA website and sign up their children for a chance to attend this jubilee.

Sweet-toothed fans will be happy to hear that IGLOO is set to launch certain-sized ice creams with molded designs of the Dubai Metro.

For example, on the sticks of the 5000 ice creams sold, consumers will be given an opportunity to win out of the 5000 nol Terhaal discount cards.

To conclude these celebrations, a 7-day Dubai Metro Music Festival will take place between the 21st and 27th of September where musical performances will occur at specific Metro stations.

This event held every year is in collaboration with Brand Dubai, the creative entities of the Dubai Government’s Creative Media Office, will see Emirati and international talents grace the anniversary of the Metro with some musical performances.
