Limited Edition Silver Coin Featuring Sheikh Mohamed Now Available for Dh650

A special commemorative silver coin portraying the image of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). The limited-edition coin that comes in the theme of saluting the CBUAE’s significant role in shaping the country’s banking and financial landscape is available for purchase at a price of Dh650.

A total of 3,000 of such limited-edition coins are minted, weighing 60 grams each. The front design of the coin shows a detailed portrait of Sheikh Mohamed, along with his name in Arabic and the phrase “President of the United Arab Emirates.” On the back, the coin features an illustration of the CBUAE edifice, with the words “50 Years of the Central Bank of the U.A.E.,” both in Arabic and English. The years engraved are “1973-2023”, which signify that it would be 50 years of the institution’s existence, and that is in addition to the nominal value of Dh50.

The coin is available for purchase through the newly launched CBUAE digital service and can be accessed on the bank’s official website. The Dh650 price includes delivery fees. Other commemorative coins can also be explored over the site, which requires UAE Pass login to access.
