Non-Dubai Vehicle Owners can now Pay for Parking via SMS

Great news for visitors of Dubai now you can use the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) mobile parking payment system without having to register for the service, this was announced by RTA on Sunday. This will benefit millions of drivers of vehicles registered in other emirates as well as GCC countries and now they can also pay their parking fare directly vis SMS without registering for the service.

Apart from this, the RTA has done some additional step as part of its efforts to upgrade its online services. In the latest upgrade, the consumer will send alerts to confirm the payment of parking.

To facilitate the drivers will be informed via SMS alert in case they send an SMS during a public holiday, which will be asking them to confirm if they wish to continue paying for the parking. As per the system, if parking fare is paid during a public holiday it is carried forward to the next working day.

This service is particularly done to notify the payee who pays without knowing that the parking is free on holidays. As it will enhance the transparency when the clients are notified prior to buying the e-ticket by RTA to confirm their interest to proceed with the buying.

According to a statement by Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA she said that RTA always looks forward to bring pleasure to people and develop smart solutions in sustaining of its strategic goals. These are such efforts that are in planned with Dubai government’s initiation towards turning in to a smart government to simplify the services offered to the public and turn Dubai as a happy atmosphere for residents, visitors, and tourists.

This service will definitely bring comfort for the drivers of Emirates and will provide them with facilities at their doorstep.
