Pakistan PM Imran khan avoids handshake with Tariq Jameel

In the wake of the pandemic, many new lifestyle habits have to be practiced by people in their daily lives just to avoid the transmission of the disease. And leading by example is the Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan and Famed religious scholar, Tariq Jameel.

In a recent meet-up to discuss the current situation in the country, both leaders met and going in for a hand shake, The Prime Minister apologized, took a step back and greeted the scholar with welcoming and friendly gesture of placing his hand on his chest.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s photos and video avoiding handshake with the country’s top religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, has gone viral on social media.

Maulana Jameel called on Imran at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Monday. Imran asked Maulana Jameel to help the government spread awareness on preventive measures to save people from coronavirus threat.

The government took this viral moment as an opportunity to educate the masses and started promoting the video and images of the moment.

“Social distancing is the most recommended preventive measure amid Corona outbreak. Pakistan also takes steps for normalszing social distancing. Today, PM Imran Khan and one of our most revered religious mentor Maualana Tariq Jamil follow social distancing protocols,” tweeted PTI (Pakistan Teheek-e-Insaf) -official twitter account of Imran Khan’s political party.

The premier also touched upon the decisions of the National Security Committee (NSC) in the meeting. Sources said Maulana Jameel will issue a statement pertaining to precautionary measures for containing the virus.
