Pakistanis in UAE can now renew passports, IDs online in 5 minutes to save time

People of Pakistan living in Dubai and northern emirates of the UAE were told that they should renew their passports and Nadra cards online which would be convenient and time-saving.

This was voiced by the consul general of Pakistan for Dubai, Hussain Muhammad while speaking to media on Wednesday on the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day celebrations at the consulate.

Among the 1.7 million population of Pakistan in the UAE a large number of Pakistanis are living and working in northern emirates. In an attempt to renew their passports and their identity cards, most of them move from Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and other emirates to Dubai.

The mission has accommodation problems because about nine hundred people come for passports and up to four hundred for IDs and renewals daily according to Muhammad.

“Passport issuance and renewal is cumbersome on the mission as nearly 900 people come to the consulate to apply for the travel document. As for the identity card, up to 400 individuals visit the consulate. The consulate is unable to cater for that large number of people, but it does its best to attend to all. To the Pakistan brothers and sisters, I would like to draw your attention that the renewal of passports and identity cards is now online.

He expanded the fact there are exhaustive instructions on how the documents can be renewed over the internet. “It only takes 5 to 10 minutes for individuals to visit a website from their homes and renew their Passports and IDs,” he said.
