Rani Mukerji Partners with Dubai Police For ‘Mardaani 2’

A bigger, bolder and bloodier sequel is coming your way with Bollywood Superstar Rani Mukherji reprising her role as the fearless Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2. The highly acclaimed prequel brought many accolades for Mukherji’s performance in which she took on a child trafficking racket.

Ahead of its release on 13th December, Rani Mukherji will be visiting Dubai for promoting the action thriller. An invite-only event, Mukherji will be attending a screening at Vox Cinema at City Center Deira with the members of the Dubai Police force after visiting the Dubai Police’s Smart Station outpost in La Mer on 12th December.

This will not be the first visit if the Hitchkii star Police Station as she has previously visited Police Control Room in Mumbai and discussed how cyber-crime is putting women and girls at risk in our country.

As the trailer hits the internet, the super cop will be on the hunt of a serial rapist and murderer in ‘Mardaani 2’.

“We would want ‘Mardaani’ to be a franchise that stands for tackling various societal issues. While the first film spoke about child trafficking, ‘Mardaani 2’ takes a stand against rapes and highlights the rise of violent crimes committed against juveniles in India,” Mukherji said in a statement earlier. “‘Mardaani’ series of films would stand for being a mirror of society to educate, create awareness and also leave a strong message for people to sit up and notice. Some films do have the responsibility to affect social change and our intention is that through all ‘Mardaani’ films we will try and bring out the hard reality, the threat that looms large next to us.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 is set to hit theatres on December 13.
