The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced a temporary bus route alternatives in bus routes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi to celebrate the UAE National Day. The new bus routes will be operational from November 29 till December 3, with the change being due to a rise in travel demand over the long holiday weekend.
The E100 route will be temporarily diverted; the usual route of the bus goes from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Abu Dhabi. It will be directed to Ibn Battuta Bus Station instead. Meanwhile, E102 will be running directly from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Mussafah Shabiya Bus Station in Abu Dhabi.
In light of this heavy traffic, the RTA also reminds commuters that taxis are available for a trip between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which is an alternative to travel during the busy period. A new taxi-sharing service which was launched earlier this month allows passengers to save up to 75% on travel costs from one city to another.
The RTA has also unveiled new bus routes from November 29th, such as Route 108, which links the Satwa Bus Station directly to Global Village. The route will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during special events from 2 pm to 1 am, with 11 trips in each direction, maintaining a frequency of 60 minutes.
On the same day, two new routes-F63 and J05-will also enter service. Two more additions to public transportation services will be made available across the city. All of these developments are part of RTA’s continued plans for improved connectivity in a growing metropolis like Dubai.
