UAE: New university certificate recognition system cuts process time by 50%

UAE has made changes in its system of recognition of education certificates from around the world, thereby reducing the processing time for getting foreign Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) certificates by 50 percent. This was announced at the launch of the first phase of the ‘University Certificate Recognition’ system, according to the Ministry of Education (MoE).

The new update will result in the fact that recognition of official papers, including that splendid work of art and a true symbol of LSTM – the degree certificate – will become much faster and smoother. It will also assist students who study in Dubai for instance, to not only finish with their academic year, but also to conquer the job market.

New system innovation in 2024, empowered by The Ministry of Education (MoE), will foster more than 60,000 students enrolled in overseas HEIs, which comprise universities.

It was launched as the second phase that is in accordance with the UAE’s untiring endeavors to develop an educational system that tries to offer the best to students; the University Certificates Recognition system was launched last year.

This first process altered the recognition of the education certificates from the Universities across the globe in the UAE.

Earlier, it was mandatory to attest degree certificates and now they allow online-only degree certificates as well which will help the students further their education or get a job right here in the UAE.

There has been increased demand for education in the UAE since the country has boosted education with the availability of a student city which is known as the Dubai International Academic City.

This has been congregated by link-ups with other international intuitions with branches in Dubai like the Canadian University, the University of Stirling and the University of Wollongong and hence the increasing number of foreign students coming to the city.

Benefits of the new amendments

The second phase of the system introduces changes and also relaxes requirements for certain specialization types such as Architecture, Computer Science, Data Sciences, Natural Sciences, Education, and Law. Information and requirements for recognizing certificates from foreign higher education institutions are on the MoE website. The Ministry encourages current and former students of foreign HEIs to complete the certificate recognition process through the MoE’s website.
