Coronavirus: Abu Dhabi uses Robots to help sterlise the city

To prevent the spread of the Covid-19, Abu Dhabi civil defence has used a robot during the ongoing national sterilisation programme.

The Abu Dhabi Police have posted a video in which the civil defence teams, teaming up with Tadweer, can be seen handling the robot which sprays disinfectants and cleaning substances on the roads and public areas. The police patrols provide support to the civil defence teams during the operation.

The robot sprays the disinfectant and cleaning substances on the roads and public areas, sanitizing it. The Abu Dhabi police extended their support to the civil defense teams during the process.

Abu Dhabi also continues to spread the message of observing the lockdown by displaying the sign #StayHome message flag flown across the city on a plane.

The ministry urged the public to stay at their homes throughout the time of the national disinfection program and not to go out except to purchase food, medicine or for health necessity or to work for the vital sectors.

In order to restricting traffic during disinfection drive between 8pm and 6am, the UAE Ministry of Interior decided to suspend all night movement permits and applications for vehicles.

Civilians have said that they have received radar flashes since the sterilization program has begun or present proof of why they were outside their homes.

This decision comes in order to support and strengthen the precautionary and preventative measures to battle the spread of Covid-19.
