Etisalat offers Free calling packages for video calling apps

With lockdown period guaranteed to extend, work from home and staying connected to loved ones is going to be of utmost importance.

Keeping this in view UAE’s largest telecom operator Etisalat has made its monthly Internet calling plan free for two months, starting April.

“To stay in touch with your loved ones during these challenging times, subscribe to the monthly Internet calling plan service for free in April and May, and enjoy voice and video calls with the supported apps. To subscribe, SMS ‘ICP’ to 1012. Together at home matters,” it said in a message sent to its subscribers.

The offer is valid both for the existing customers and the new customers. However, the existing customers will have to first unsubscribe from the internet calling plan and then subscribe afresh to benefit from the new offer.
Subscibers to Etisalat’s internet calling service are allowed to make calls using the VoIP apps such as C’Me, BOTIM, HiU.

Etisalat’s internet calling plan usually costs Dh50 per month if used on mobile phones and Dh100 per month if used with Wi-Fi service at home using multiple devices.

In March, Etisalat – along with rival Du – agreed to provide internet data packages via mobile phones to ensure that learning continues for students across the UAE amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Etisalat recently provided access to remote learning applications (Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, Blackboard and Zoom) on the fixed network and Microsoft Teams, Blackboard and Zoom on the mobile network.
