How to get a Move Permit for Pedestrians, Cyclists in Dubai

With increased restrictions amidst coronavirus lockdown, now even Cyclists and pedestrians in Dubai will need move permits before stepping out to buy essentials.

It is fairly simple as government has set up a website specifically for that, According to the permit website, residents will now also have to enter details of the purpose of travel as well as the mode of transport they will be using.

Residents can apply for a permit at https://dxbpermit.gov.ae/permits

Residents who wish to move during the 24-hour sterilisation programme must apply for a movement permit following Dubai’s Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management decision.

The official urged people to use deliveries in order to not have to register for a permit. Police advised people not to go every day to supermarkets, pharmacies and instead buy the r essentials in bulk. Residents can select from different options like car, metro, bus, walking or cycling.

Even if people do end up going on foot and bicycles should wear gloves, masks and keep safe distance from others, the Police urges.

The service will provide information on topics such as the process for obtaining permits, sectors exempted from the restrictions and general information on the measures.
