Dubai-based developer Emaar Properties has partnered with Chinese giant Xiaomi to launch ‘Emaar Smart Home’. Emaar Properties has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Xiaomi, a global technology leader with the world’s largest Internet of Things (IoT) consumer platform.
Described as a next-generation product offering, the latest smart home technology powered by artificial intelligence features a one-of-a-kind smart home experience with a comprehensive set of pre-installed smart home and IoT products. Emaar’s new product will launch in 2020 as an exclusive set of digitally-enabled residential developments, powered by Xiaomi.
This makes Emaar Properties the world’s first developer outside China to enter such a strategic agreement with Xiaomi to introduce smart homes.
Chew Shou Zi, senior vice president, president of international at Xiaomi, added: “With Emaar as our partner, we are confident that we will showcase just how advanced the latest Xiaomi smart home products are.” ‘Emaar Smart Home’ will provide customers with connected smart home experiences that are controlled and monitored through Xiaomi’s Mi Home app.
The application allows users to easily manage their personal smart home system through its Mi Smart Door Lock which can unlock doors via smartphones, wearables, and passcodes. In addition, Xiaomi Robot Vacuum will help in cleaning the smart homes. Commenting on the new project, chairman of Emaar, Mohamed Alabbar, said that Emaar Smart Home represents the company’s vision of meeting the needs of future generations. This partnership will contribute to launching an unprecedented new project in the region.
