Free visa. Real savings. Actual dates you can’t ignore. Abu Dhabi’s tourism department just named the travel partners behind its complimentary visa scheme, and Indian travellers finally know where to book.

Here’s the deal. Indian passport holders booking an Abu Dhabi holiday of at least three nights through one of 11 approved operators can receive a 30-day UAE tourist visa. Free of charge. That’s roughly Dh285 back in your pocket before you’ve even landed.

    Who Made The List?

Eleven names, and a few of them you’ll already recognise.

MakeMyTrip. Thomas Cook & SOTC. Thrillophilia. Akbar Holidays. Holiday Tribe. Utazzo.com. Kesari Tours. Riya Travels. Royal Tours. PickYourTrail. Aaryan Leisure.

Book through any one of these, and you’re in the running. Book elsewhere, and the offer simply doesn’t apply. That’s the trade-off DCT Abu Dhabi has set up.

    Who Qualifies?

Every Indian passport holder. No exceptions carved out, no fine print excluding certain travellers.

But there’s a catch worth flagging.

The Dates Matter More Than You Think

August 1 through October 31, 2026. That’s the window. And it’s not about when you book, it’s about when you actually travel.

Say you book in September but your trip lands in November. Sorry, that doesn’t count. The travel itself has to happen inside that window, full stop. Booking early and travelling late won’t save your free visa.

Traveling With Family? Good News There

No cap on how many free visas one family can claim. Bring your parents, your kids, your extended in-laws if you like. Every traveller who books an eligible stay and meets the minimum three-night requirement gets their own complimentary visa.

The only real ceiling sits at the programme level — DCT Abu Dhabi is capping the pilot at 20,000 visas overall. First come, first served, essentially.

    Booking Doesn’t Mean Guaranteed

This part trips people up. A confirmed holiday package isn’t the same as a confirmed visa. Every application still runs through standard UAE immigration checks. Government approval isn’t automatic just because you paid for a trip.

So don’t finalise flights before your visa clears. That’s just asking for trouble.

    How Long Does Processing Take?

No shortcuts here, unfortunately. Visas under this scheme follow the same timeline as any other UAE tourist visa application. There’s no fast lane, no priority queue just because you booked through one of the eleven partners.

Plan accordingly. Give yourself buffer room before your travel dates.

How Are Operators Actually Getting This Done?

Behind the scenes, travel partners have two options. They can work through a Destination Management Company appointed directly by DCT Abu Dhabi, with visa costs covered upfront. Or they can stick with their existing DMC relationships, in which case DCT Abu Dhabi reimburses around Dh285 per visa issued afterward.

Either way, the traveller doesn’t pay for the visa. That part stays consistent.

Will This Stick Around Past October?

Nobody’s saying yet. This is a pilot. DCT Abu Dhabi plans to review how it performed once the October 31 window closes, then decide whether it continues, expands, or quietly wraps up.

For now? If you’re planning an Abu Dhabi trip this autumn, this is worth locking in before the window shuts.
