The gates are open again. Dubai Safari Park welcomed visitors back on Monday, October 12, kicking off its eighth season with a packed opening week timed neatly to the school mid-term break.
Families looking for something to do with restless kids this week now have an easy answer.
The “Wildest Opening Week”
Running October 12 to 18, the opening celebration centres on the African Village Plaza Area, where the Little Explorers’ Base Camp operates daily from 10am to 6pm. It’s built for younger visitors, and it’s more hands-on than you’d expect.
At the Wild Creations Clay Station, kids pick an animal figure (lions, monkeys, hippos) and decorate it with their own paint kit. They take home something they made themselves, which beats another plastic souvenir.
The Wild Ink Temporary Tattoo Station offers jungle and safari designs. Think elephants, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, plus paw prints and tropical leaves.
Prefer something more energetic? The base camp has safari-themed inflatables and oversized lawn games, including giant Connect 4, Jenga and Tic Tac Toe. Parents tend to get roped in on those.
There’s also “The Wild Welcome,” a 25-minute stage show celebrating the new season.

Safari Tours And Wildlife Encounters
The opening-week activities are a bonus. The real draw runs all season.
The Arabian Desert Safari Tour comes included with every admission ticket. Want more? The Safari Bundle adds the Explorer Safari Tour, which takes you past lions, giraffes and rhinos in open-range habitats.
Premium options go further still: King of Safari, Behind the Scenes, Dine in the Wild and Jungle Capture. They cover private tours, exclusive access and dining close to the animals.
Daily presentations round things out. Bird’s Kingdom, Echoes of the Wild and Birds of Prey explain animal behaviour and conservation in a way that’s genuinely engaging for kids and adults alike.
Opening Hours
The park runs daily from 9am to 6pm all season, with last entry at 5pm. Opening-week activities wrap up on Sunday, October 18, so if the mid-term break is your window, don’t leave it late.
