Mark the date. Global Village is coming back, and this time it’s running longer than ever. October 14, 2026, is when the gates reopen. From there, the season stretches all the way through to May 2027, over seven months of pavilions, food stalls, rides, and everything else that’s made this place a Dubai staple since the late nineties.

This year’s theme? “A More Wonderful World.” Fitting, really, given what’s apparently coming.

    What’s New This Season

Here’s the thing about Global Village, it doesn’t just repeat itself year after year. Season 31 is bringing in a batch of new additions specifically designed to pull people back, even the ones who feel like they’ve “already done” Global Village a dozen times.

Details on the specific new attractions haven’t fully dropped yet, but the framing is clear. This isn’t just a re-run of last year’s format with fresh paint. There’s genuine intent to give returning visitors something they haven’t seen before.

Nearly Three Decades In, And Still Growing

Since opening back in 1997, Global Village has quietly become one of Dubai’s defining cultural fixtures. Millions of visitors, from across the UAE and well beyond it, have walked through its pavilions over the years.

What keeps it relevant isn’t just nostalgia, either. Every season brings evolution, new pavilions, refreshed entertainment lineups, dining concepts that shift with what people actually want to eat that year. It’s less a static theme park, more a living event that reinvents itself annually while keeping its core identity intact.

    Looking Back At Season 30

Last season wrapped up on Sunday, May 31, 2026, after getting a three-week extension to cover the Eid Al Adha holidays. Good move, honestly, extending around a major holiday period makes sense given how much foot traffic that window typically brings.

But Season 30 wasn’t smooth sailing throughout.

The park actually closed for more than 51 days due to regional tensions, before reopening again on April 20, 2026. That’s a significant disruption for any seasonal attraction, and it makes Season 30’s eventual numbers even more notable given the circumstances.

Because despite that closure, the milestone season still delivered big. Thirty pavilions, representing more than 90 cultures. Over 3,500 shopping outlets scattered throughout. More than 250 dining experiences to choose from.

On the entertainment side, numbers were just as substantial, 40,500 performances delivered by 450 international artists across the season. Add in Carnaval’s more than 200 rides and games, and it’s clear why Season 30, disruptions included, still counted as a landmark year for the destination.

    Vendors, Take Note

If you’re running a food business and thinking about setting up at Global Village, registration is already open.

Two categories exist for anyone applying: “Restaurant and Coffee Shops” and “Kiosks and Food Trolleys.” The deadline to apply sits at September 16, 2026, so there’s a narrow window left if you’re considering it.

Sign up, and the support offered is fairly comprehensive. Customisable setups, visa assistance, help navigating customs procedures for imported products, storage provisions, and electronic payment terminals all come bundled in for approved vendors.

It’s also worth knowing that Global Village has built a reputation as something of a launchpad. New culinary concepts often debut here first, testing the waters before expanding elsewhere. International eateries frequently use it as their entry point into the local market, too, a low-risk way to gauge demand before committing to a permanent Dubai location.

So whether you’re planning to visit in October or you’re weighing up setting up a food stall there yourself, the timeline’s now locked in. Season 31 is coming, and by the sound of it, it’s aiming to outdo what came before.
