Khaleej Journal publishes news, guides and explainers for people living in, working in and visiting the UAE and the wider Gulf. We welcome guest articles from writers, journalists and specialists who know their subject well and can explain it clearly to our readers.
What we’re looking for
- UAE and Gulf life: laws and regulations, visas, jobs and salaries, housing, schools, transport and day-to-day living.
- Money and business: personal finance, startups, SMEs, real estate and the regional economy.
- Lifestyle: food, travel, events, health and fitness, fashion and family.
- Technology: new launches, apps, AI and digital services in the region.
- Expert explainers: lawyers, doctors, financial advisers, recruiters and other professionals explaining a topic from their own experience.
Guidelines
- Your article must be original, unpublished anywhere else, and written by you. AI-generated or spun content is not accepted.
- Aim for 800 to 1,500 words with a clear angle for readers in the UAE or the Gulf.
- Back up facts, figures and legal points with reliable sources (government portals, official announcements, reputable research) and link to them.
- Write for readers, not search engines: plain English, short paragraphs and useful subheadings.
- Images must be your own or properly licensed. Tell us the source of every image.
- Articles that mainly promote a business, product or service are treated as sponsored content. Please see Advertise with Us.
- We do not sell links. Any links in guest articles are reviewed by our editors and may be removed or marked as nofollow.
How to pitch
Email marketing@khaleejjournal.com with the subject line “Guest article pitch” and include:
- Your proposed headline and a 3 to 5 line summary of the article.
- Why you are the right person to write it (your role, experience or expertise).
- Two or three links to work you have published before, if you have any.
- A short bio (2 to 3 sentences), a headshot and links to your LinkedIn or other professional profiles.
Please send a pitch first rather than a finished article. We reply to pitches we’d like to take forward, usually within 5 working days.
What happens next
- Our editors may edit your article for clarity, accuracy, length and house style, and will check the facts before it goes live.
- Published guest articles carry your name, photo and bio, with a link to your author page.
- Khaleej Journal may update the article later to keep it accurate (for example when a law or a price changes).
- Guest contributions are unpaid unless agreed otherwise in writing.
