Every parent knows the feeling. It’s 2 PM, the energy levels at home are somewhere near volcanic, and the heat outside rules out the park. Dubai has an answer. Quite a few, actually.
The city is packed with air-conditioned play spaces where kids can climb, crawl, bounce and burn through that endless supply of energy. Some are pure fun. Others sneak in a bit of learning, which is a nice bonus nobody has to announce to the children.
Here are eleven worth knowing about.
Abracadabra
A brand-new arrival in Al Quoz, and a handy one for summer holiday plans.
Climbing walls, football zones, ball pits, and a 360-degree immersive dome that lets kids step inside digital worlds. Face-painting, hair-braiding, crafts and live entertainment run through the day, so there’s rarely a dull moment.

From Dhs199 for a two-hour pass. Open Mon-Thu 10am-7pm, Fri-Sun 10am-8pm. Al Quoz. abracadabra.ae, 054 756 5038.

It’s huge, with over 30 attractions, from a snow park and trampolines to a princess dress-up area and interactive shows. Ages range from babies to teens, and yes, there are soft-furred cows the kids can milk. Really.
