The Max Amini Dubai show is confirmed for Tuesday 22 December 2026, with two performances at Dubai Opera. Most people who buy a ticket already know him from a phone screen, not a stage. His short clips of crowd work, where he talks to people in the front rows and builds a whole bit out of their answers, are what turned him from a well-known Iranian-American comic into one of the most watched stand-ups in the world.
That matters if you are thinking of going. This show will not be a set you can watch online first. A big part of it depends on who is sitting in the room that night.

Why his social media is the real reason this show will sell
Max Amini’s main Instagram account, @maxcomedian, has around 10 million followers. He also runs a separate Persian-language page, @maxxpersian, with around 7 million more, and his YouTube channel, Max Amini, sits close to 5 million subscribers.
What he posts is the interesting part. Very little of it is polished, pre-written material. Most of it is crowd work: he asks someone where they are from or what they do, and the joke grows from the answer. A nurse, a couple on a first date, a man who came with his mother. These clips travel fast because they feel unscripted, and they are.
The two-language strategy is also worth noticing. The English page speaks to a global audience, while the Persian page keeps him close to Iranian fans around the world, a big community in Dubai. For a city like this one, that mix is exactly why the show was booked.

His recent upload from a show in Delhi is a good preview of the style. It is long, it leans heavily on the audience, and it shows how he adjusts his material for each country he visits.

Who is Max Amini?
Max Amini was born in Arizona to Iranian parents and has been performing for more than 20 years. He has sold out six shows at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and became the first Iranian-American comedian to headline Madison Square Garden. He has also played the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and The O2 in London.
His comedy is observational. Family, immigrant parents, cultural differences and dating are regular topics, which helps explain why he travels so well across the Middle East and South Asia.
Where the Dubai date sits on his tour
Dubai comes at the end of a busy run in the region. According to his official tour page, his Cairo shows sold out and a seventh show was added for 18 November. Istanbul and Malta also sold out, and extra dates were added in Tirana. Amman follows on 18 December, four days before Dubai, and the tour then moves to Germany and the Netherlands in January 2027.
When almost every stop is adding shows, it is fair to expect Dubai to move quickly too.
What to expect on the night
- Front rows get involved. If you would rather not be part of the show, avoid the first few rows.
- Phones may be restricted. Many comedians lock phones away or ask audiences not to film. Check your ticket terms before you go.
- Adult content. The material is aimed at adults. Check the age policy on Platinumlist before buying for teenagers.
- Arrive early. Downtown Dubai traffic in late December is heavy, especially before the late show.

Pro Tip: Book the 6.30pm show if you want dinner afterwards in Downtown. The 10pm show ends late, and most restaurants around Dubai Opera will be closing their kitchens by then.
Our Take
Max Amini is one of the few comedians whose online clips actually make you want to see him live, because the best moments only happen in the room. With sold-out shows across his tour and a smaller venue like Dubai Opera, waiting for prices before deciding is risky. If you have been watching his crowd-work clips for a while, this is the show to book early.
